Experience the holy city of Lhasa, where the mesmerizing sights, vibrant sounds, and rich spiritual traditions of Tibetan Buddhism come to life. Explore iconic landmarks such as the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and bustling Barkhor Street, along with other culturally significant destinations including Tsedang, Gyantse, and Shigatse. From awe-inspiring monasteries and ancient palaces to breathtaking Himalayan landscapes, every moment in Tibet offers deep cultural immersion and soul-stirring experiences.

Important Note: This journey is combined with a Nepal tour, as the only Chinese Embassy issuing Tibet visas outside mainland China is located in Kathmandu. Upon your arrival in Nepal, we will manage the Tibet visa process on your behalf using your original passport. Visa processing typically takes 3–4 working days.

While your visa is being arranged, enjoy guided sightseeing in Kathmandu, Nepal’s vibrant capital, renowned for its ancient temples and living heritage, followed by a visit to Pokhara, a serene lakeside city nestled beneath the Annapurna range.

Bordering Tibet and home to the majestic Himalayas, Nepal is a remarkable destination in its own right. With its breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural diversity, and warm hospitality, this journey offers a unique opportunity to explore two of the world’s most captivating regions in one unforgettable experience.

Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrive in Kathamndu (1350m / 4430ft):
Welcome to Nepal! Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you will sign the Tibet visa application form, and we will collect your original passport and a photo to process the visa. If time permits, feel free to explore the local surroundings.

Day 02 : Sightseeing in Kathmandu:
Begin your day with a visit to the Swayambhunath Stupa, perched atop a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley. Familiarly known as the “Monkey Temple”, its golden spire crowns one of the oldest and most mystical shrines in the region, offering breathtaking panoramic views and a serene spiritual ambiance.
Next, visit Patan (Lalitpur), the valley’s oldest city. Explore Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its medieval palace, intricate wood and stone carvings, pagoda-style temples, and shimmering golden statues. Step inside the Patan Museum, housed within the former royal palace, to discover an exquisite collection of Hindu and Buddhist art, beautifully preserved in a restored historic setting.

Day 03 : Fly to Pokhara:
Enjoy a short, scenic flight to Pokhara, known for its lush natural beauty, serene lakes, and breathtaking mountain vistas. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel, and enjoy a peaceful boat ride on Fewa Lake. Later, visit the International Mountain Museum and stroll along the vibrant lakeside area.

Day 04 : Sightseeing in Pokhara:
IAfter breakfast, take a short drive to Pumdikot (4,920ft), home to an ancient fort on a hilltop. Then, enjoy a short walk to the Peace Stupa, offering stunning views of Fewa Lake, and the surrounding Himalayas. Return to Pokhara for lunch and the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 05 : Fly to Kathmandu:
After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Pokhara Airport for your return flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, walk through local market to Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 06 : Fly to Lhasa Gonggar Airport (3570m / 11700ft) / drive to Tsedang (3500m / 11480ft) 1 ½ hour drive:
Begin your adventure with an exhilarating flight to Lhasa, flying over the Himalayas. Upon arrival at Gonggar Airport, you will be greeted by your Tibetan guide. After completing immigration formalities, you'll be transferred to Tsedang. Check into your hotel and rest to acclimatize.

Day 07 : Drive to Lhasa (3655m /12000ft):
Tsedang, the cradle of Tibetan civilization, is rich in historical landmarks. Start with a visit to Yambulakhang, Tibet’s first palace dating back to the 2nd century BC. Then, drive through the picturesque Yarlung Tsangpo Valley to the Samye Monastery, Tibet’s first monastery, built in the 8th century. The monastery, shaped like a Mandala, is an architectural wonder, blending Tibetan, Chinese, and Indian styles. Afterward, continue your journey to Lhasa, enjoying scenic views along the way.

Day 08 : Sightseeing in Lhasa
After breakfast, visit Drepung Monastery, once housing over 7,700 monks and one of the largest monastic universities in Tibet. In the afternoon, explore Sera Monastery, where monks engage in lively debates and religious discourses. Return to your hotel after the tour.

Day 09 : Sightseeing in Lhasa
Today, visit the magnificent Potala Palace, which dominates the Lhasa skyline. Inside, explore the ancient chambers, stunning Tibetan murals, and the tombs of eight Dalai Lamas. Later, visit Jokhang Temple, the most sacred site in Tibetan Buddhism, located in the heart of Lhasa. Finish the day with a stroll around Barkhor Square, the oldest street in the city, dating back to the foundation of Jokhang Temple.

Note: As entry to the Potala Palace is restricted to a limited number of visitors per day, the sequence of sightseeing will be arranged by your guide accordingly.
Day 10 : Drive to Shigatse (3900m / 12800ft):
Embark on a scenic drive along the Sino-Nepal Friendship Highway, passing by the stunning Yamdrok-tso Lake. Stop for photographs at this majestic lake before visiting the Kumbum Stupa in Gyantse, known for its gold dome and Tibetan murals. Continue to Shigatse, Tibet’s second-largest city.

Day 11 : Drive to Lhasa:
In the morning, visit the Tashilumpo Monastery, the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama. Then, enjoy a scenic drive back to Lhasa, passing the Yarlung Tsangpo River. After checking into your hotel, you have free time to explore Lhasa on your own.

Day 12 : Fly to Kathmandu:
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Gonggar Airport for your return flight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world, a prominent site for Tibetan culture and spirituality.

Day 13 : Depart from Kathmandu:
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
