Trip Overview
Annapurna Base Camp or Annapurna Sanctuary is the perfect introduction to trekking in the Himalayas. It is a medium length trek into the heart of the mighty Himalaya with unsurpassed views.
This trek passes through a diverse range of climate, vegetation and cultural zones. From lush vegetation of rain and temperate forests to the alpine environment of the Sanctuary, each day on this trek offers something different. The land really does change daily, which provides a tantalizing introduction to Nepal’s cultural and natural beauty. Many trekkers choose this route as a shorter and easier alternative to the Everest Base Camp trek.
Brief itinerary:
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1350m / 4430ft).
Day 02: Guided sightseeing to UNESCO sited in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Drive to Pokhara (850m / 2790ft): 6 hours’ drive
Day 04: Drive to Ghandruk (2000m / 6560ft): 2 hours’ drive
Day 05: Trek to Chhomorong (2170m / 7120ft) / 5 hours trek
Day 06: Trek to Bamboo (2145m / 7040ft) / 5 hours trek
Day 07: Trek to Deurali (3230m / 10600ft) / 5 hours trek
Day 08: Trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m / 12140 ft): 3 hours trek
Day 09: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m / 13550ft) / 2 hours trek
Day 10: Trek to Doban (2630m / 8630ft) / 6 hours trek
Day 11: Trek to Chhomorong (2170m / 7120ft) / 6 hours trek
Day 12: Trek to Jhinu New Bridge (1530m / 520ft) / drive to Pokhara: 1 ½ hours trek / 2 hours’ drive
Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu: Day in leisure.
Day 14: Depart from Kathmandu: Transfer to airport.
Note: At some high places on trek, the rooms are basic and you will have to share a dormitory rooms. But our guide will try to get the best available rooms. It is because the conservation area has stopped adding new hotels at those places.
